About the Event

Aliens believe in the power of music to open ears, hearts and minds. The band is led by songwriter & film maker, Tim May, and was originally formed with Iain Harvie, guitarist and founding member of million-selling Scottish rockers, Del Amitri.

Singles from Aliens' critically acclaimed first album, Terradome (2019), were played on over 100 radio stations around the world. Desolation Angel released in aid of Centrepoint, the UK’s leading homelessness charity, was picked as a BBC Radio Scotland record of the week.

For 2021’s 30lbs Of Air, Tim enlisted Grammy-nominated songwriter and guitarist, Calum MacColl. Aliens signed to Metal Postcard Records for the album’s release and it entered rotation on a host of US independent radio stations, landing at #10 in WLFR’s Top 30 chart. So Long My Love was featured on BBC Oxford as part of Remembrance Day.

“30lbs Of Air is a wondrous blend of lush, affecting ballads and sophisticated pop songs.” Stereo Embers Magazine

Tim will be joined on stage by Tony Award winning Musical Director and composer, Sarah Travis, on piano, and Martyn Barker (Shriekback, Robert Plant, Marianne Faithfull, Sarah Jane Morris) on cajón and percussion.

2022 saw the release of three remixes by DJ Pitch and a new single and video, Nothing.

Ambitious, diverse and heavily swayed by extraordinary sound, Fred Hills creates captivating compositions by fusing influences from around the musical world. Inspired to play by the unique and revolutionary musicians that preceded him, Fred Hills incorporates his love of jazz, prog, electronica, world and folk music into his colourful rhythms, melodic ‘open-handed’ beats and delicate guitar-based compositions.

Fred’s forthcoming debut EP ‘Incerto’, draws influences from The Cinematic Orchestra, White Denim, Jose Gonzales and others.
